Love 03:54
I just wanna know if it's true If a man like me can love a man like you I just really want to believe That a girl like you can love a girl like me I just wanna know if it's true If a boy like me can love a girl like you I just really want to believe That a boy like you can love a girl like me I just wanna know if it's true If a girl like me can love a girl like you I just really want to believe That a man like you can love a man like me

He made his home on the outskirts of town Where the outcasts and the broken Were the only ones around And he talked of different things Like socialist ideals And anarchy and freedom And how it feels to really feel Alive alone and frightened Alive alone enlightened He went in kicking tables And knocking over chairs He called the man a fool The man sent back an evil glare See what's right ain't always law And what's law ain't always right Don't be afraid to say fuck the man And give the man a fight He hung out with the beggars And he hung out with the poor He was friends with all the gamblers He was friends with all the whores He knew that change was coming But he didn't know how fast Or if he'd be around for it Or even if it'd last See Jesus was an anarchist And most will not admit to this But the revolution was in the back of his mind The whole time In the back of his mind the whole time In the back of his mind See Jesus was an anarchist And most will not admit to this But the revolution was in the back of your mind The whole time

Don't mistake affection when you're hearing the inflection In my voice I made a choice to be respectful and respected I'm electing to reject your means of local anesthetic It's pathetic how you vilify us trying to discredit Everything that's happening I don't think I can stand for this News reporters busy telling me what's new and cancerous The answer is I haven't even heard the question yet I haven't even heard the question yet I just wanna be I just wanna be I just wanna be free Spending money on he tax Spending money on Iraq Spending money on the fiction If we only had the facts I know I know I know Change is gonna come I know I know I know Change is gonna come I just wanna be I just wanna be I just wanna be free

He was a fable He was a myth He was all-knowing And she didn’t exist He was your prophet He was your god He was your everything And she just was not Regardless Of every great man There’s a great woman He was a hero Went out and conquered She was expected To be prim and proper She cleaned up the blood And wiped off the tears And raised those young men Year after year She taught me more About being a man Than he ever could Regardless Of every great man There’s a great woman So step out of the shadows my dear Even if your voice trembles with fear And shout it as loud as you can That regardless of every great man Yea regardless Of every great man There’s a great woman
5.
Seen a man with a gun And a man with a bible You can wage war with both Be you Peter Paul or Pilot And you just wanna save their souls And you just wanna make them whole But you don't know you don't know You're watching them they're watching you too You're watching them they're watching you too They're watching you If god is a white man Then I am an infidel If god is a woman Then I'm goin straight to hell And Darwin was right We're all dumb beasts at best And you don't know you don't know You're killing them they're killing you too You're killing them they're killing you too They're killing you

She lived a life alone Surrounded by the ships and stones Where diamond rings and all the pretty things were only Decorations for the bones So who's to say she's wrong It's been this way so very long They came in droves to find her cove And get her back where she belongs They talked about a promised land In words she'd never understand They spoke in tongues of sand and sun The blood dripping from their hands They led her past the coral shelf Scattered with discarded wealth Blind conviction was their affliction Gave neither happiness nor health Apologies in tow In the phosphorescent glow Of the moon, she just assumed She’d be absolved of undertow She crept towards the dine-in chapel Fluorescent lights and candy apple Paint to match the saints Outside, knelt down, groveling in the gravel Gator-skin collection plate The leader with a mighty weight Made his decree in LED Persuasive psalms of love and hate “Pennies are for paperweights Nickels only crack the gates But dollar bills if it’s your will Might save you from your incandescent fate.” She crept back towards the sea With a hardened heart and paper knees Side by side with a fire-eyed Beggar, begging for relief So tell me who will save your soul And who’s your devil now?

America 02:11
All my children love me And all of them were there To see father infallible And mother always cared And brother told the white man To clean his own damn shoes And sister screamed and lost her shit On the Sunday evening news The president caught bullets The vice just came undone The daughter knew the story Better than the only son And junior was a leader He picked his words just right The king he was a warlord And he never lost a fight
9.
She said "Baby I'm pregnant" He said "Darlin we'll have to get rid of it Because I'm not ready to be a father Whether it's a son or a daughter It don't matter much" She said "I can't pretend for a moment I'm really ok with this" He said "To tell you the truth babe it ain't really about you anyways" She said "I hate the goddamn clinic, even more than goin in it, it's those good ol christian critics standing outside. And those cunts clutching their crosses while I'm forced to cut my losses I'm so terrified." He said "Don't worry anymore babe I'll walk you to the door and if they say anything more than how ya doin, it's not like me to be violent but I won't sit back in silence while they tear you down" The measure of a man doesn't lie in his command Of a hundred thousand hands or a hundred nations It doesn't lie within his youth or the color of his suits or his relations It's pushing through the pain to watch your lover smile again And if you don't know what I'm saying you ain't there yet It's compassion for the kind that the world has left behind when it ain't easy.

Immaculum 03:18
Born as a ghost They wrapped me in clothes Made of diamonds and hired A choir of angels to eat fire And I could persist Or cease to exist Because heaven’s a legend And man is a myth Oh father, oh father What have you done What have you done I sat and I read Of the living and the dead The absurdist creation And the curse on their head You were licking the flesh And tasting the fruit As the snake took his breathes From the mouths of the youth Oh father, oh father What have I done What have I done Oh father, Oh father What have we done What have we done

They whisper in your ears The ghosts of pioneers As you search for Everything you’re worth So collect your crystal tears Forget all of your fears As you search for The river flowing north Live free Live free Live on The tyrants tired eyes Have finally capsized And his hands are Tethered to the stones He cast at passers by His halo hung him high Only the lonely Occupy his throne Live free Live free Live on

about

AMERICA tells the story of someone growing up and realizing that they’re surrounded by sexism, racism, homophobia and ridiculously unachievable societal standards. The kind of standards that don’t build people up or create communities or encourage the common good, but rather tear down people that are different and make them out to be less than. Unfortunately, more often than not it’s fueled by some kind of overzealous religious dogma that makes no sense in the current context of life in America.
